Changed My Life

I have been smoke free for 6 years now and I cannot suggest this book enough! If I could do it, so can you! Good luck

I stop in 2011 & share with everyone

This book saved my life. I read it 3 times & have been a happy non smoker 12 yrs

Life-Changing Book

A smoker from age 15 on, I quit smoking for nine years, then started up again seriously at 35 when I moved to a culture where it was more acceptable. When I knew it was time to quit for good, a friend recommended this book, although it hadn't worked for him. I quit smoking on September 26, 1997 and never looked back! Got pregnant in November of 1998 and was SO glad I was a former smoker by that time. Gave birth to a very healthy son who is now 23. I have lost ALL desire to smoke tobacco, and, in fact, find the smell revolting. Thank you, Allen Carr!! 25 plus years and counting!

Pretending addiction is not real does not work

It is an interesting theory - all of addiction not being real. Wrong! Ignoring the reasons I failed to quit smoking didn't work long term. The opposite of finding things to help minimize symptoms led to long term quitting.

Must read!!!

Changed the way I was looking at smoking. Which made the difference for me. It was really simple, easy, and enjoyable to quit thanks to this book! I wish for every smoker to read this book, and break free, like I did!

Very helpful

The book is very helpful and fulfills its purpose. I am very happy I made that purchase.

this book changed my life

I still can't believe it, I don't usually buy self help books but I didn't want to smoke anymore and I thought "What's the worst that can happen?". So I ordered the book... as soon as I started reading I couldn't put it down. It really changed the way a saw myself as a smoker and the way I see other smokers now is totally different. The theory is very simple, at times one even wonders how come you didn't figure it out on your own, it so obvious, but somehow as smokers we are trapped and you can't see what you're doing. If you don't want to smoke anymore I totally recomend this book.

2 years smoke free

If you are looking for a permanent solution without the big expense involved with patches or other methodes, this book is for you. Once I had made up my mind about wanting to quit I read the book (very slowly, it took me 3 weeks to read about 160 pages) and then I picked my day to finish, because I knew, that was the day I picked as my last day of smoking. Never regretted it and I know I will never smoke again. Trust Mr. Carr's Way. It works.

Quitting made very, very easy

If I had known that it was this easy to quit I would have read this book years ago. I really can't believe that I struggled with patches, gum etc for so many years when this simple, effective cure was available the whole time. Health Canada should distribute this title free of charge to every smoker in Canada.Every smoker I know who has read this book is now a happy non-smoker. It really is that powerful and that easy.

Kick A** book for those who REALLY want to stop smoking

It was a Monday morning. Hungover. Broke. No cigarettes. This, I thought, was as good a time as any to start reading a book about giving up smoking.Plunging bravely in, I got to chapter two within a matter of minutes."Follow all the instructions in this book," it advised as rule number one.Rule number two? "Don't stop smoking until you've finished this book."Damn. Blast. I had to drag myself back out of bed, shower, change, ring my editor for an advance, go to the bank, cash my cheque, buy a packet of cigarettes, all so I could give up smoking.Except, as Allen Carr points out, I was not 'giving up' anything. At the tender age of 38, I had been thinking about not smoking for two or three years. Visiting my neighbour, who happens to be the wife of our prime minister, I noticed she was not smoking."Nah, and haven't been for 14 months now."Woh! Wasn't that really hard?"No it was quite easy, really."No way! How did you do it?"Read a book."Pause. Silence. Big breath. Can I borrow it?"Sure," says our first lady.Three months later, after giving up on 19 June 2003, I still get nicotine pangs. Maybe as much as two or three times a day. This is good. In fact, this is incredible. The last time I tried to 'give up' I thought about cigarettes two to three THOUSAND times a day.The rest of the time? No worries!I feel like I've turned a corner on 19 years of fagging and there's no looking back. Mind you, my mother read the same book and is still having great difficulty. Problem is, she only 'gave up' because she had to spend time in hospital and was terrified at the thought of going through withdrawals. Now back in the real world, she has also been off the cigarettes for nearly three months. The difference is that I thought about it for a long time and really wanted to stop smoking forever. If you are one of those people, then read this book. Just don't stop until you finish it!Yeah, it took me three weeks to read the book ... ;-) Take as long as you want!ends

Kicking Butts: 10 Rules to Quit Smoking

Over 50 years ago the Surgeon General, a man named Luther Terry, broke new ground when he introduced a landmark report called Smoking and Health: Report of the Advisory Committee to the Surgeon General of the United States. This wasn't the first time a government official had declared smoking to be bad, but the report had far-reaching implications for the tobacco industry leading directly to controls on advertising and package messaging.
