This book is a fun and humorous spin on Advaita Vedanta; however, unlike many "Advaita teachers" who do the shuffle and whose teachings are exclusively rooted in rhetoric, or Jnana Yoga, or the changing of one's "headset", Master Da's Teaching is rooted in the context of transmission of powerful shakti. It is in this context that this teaching must be understood. How do you do that? Sit with a Teacher who can radiate that field of Love-Bliss. Such teachers are more and more rare these days, but once you taste, then this Teaching will be much more palpable. Even further, you can receive the shakti from tuning into this book. And bare minimunm you will change your way of looking at Life. Da's Teachings are remarkably consistent in terms of recognizing the folly of seeking, self-contraction, etc. However he was always innovating how he might impart that. This book is a prime example of that. It shows him as Guru as Artist. Always innovating the vehicle. Great!!!
The Dreaded Gom-Boo
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
In this remarkable book, Heart-Master Da presents a startling humorous insight: all religion seeks to cure us of an unreal disease, which Heart-Master Da calls the "Dreaded Gom-Boo". This disease is our constant assumption that we have fallen from Grace and are thus in need of the salvatory "cure" of religious belief. Heart-Master Da uproots this religious conceit and illusion by Confessing that we are always already present and alive as Divine Being. The "good news" of his Way is that we need not seek to be cured but must ony feel, observe, understand, and renounce the very activity of seeking itself and thus be restored to our native Happiness and Freedom. The insightful, liberating message of this book cuts through thousands of years of religious and mystical dogma and beliefs by revealing a radical spiritual Way eminently suited to the needs of modern men and women. --- from book's back cover
