The Dragon with Red Eyes

First of all, I think the reading level is incorrect. This book has language more complex than books for babies. I would say preschool through 2nd grade is more appropriate. I read books to kids for a living and this is one of the best ones I've run across lately. It has a sense of reality, even though the main character is a baby dragon. It is uniquely charming, written by an accomplished Swedish author. The illustrations are appealing. The story has a sad but acceptable and quite realistic ending that any child can relate to.
