Jay and Lila Cooper and their archaeologist father travel to Nepur to uncover the truth behind the legend of the deadly Door in the Dragon's Throat. What danger lies beyond the Door?
An Indian-Jones style adventure novel perfect for pre-teens.

This book begins an adventure series which combines faith, adventure, and suspense in some of the best adolescent fiction I’ve ever read. Granted, my view is biased because of how much fun I had with this series in my younger years, but I will do my best to provide a fair review. First off, the writing is not insulting or juvenile but is excellent for the targeted age range. It is visually descriptive when necessary and punchy when the action calls for it. The story itself has an interesting concept and setting, but no doubt due to the low word count, it feels like it is missing the middle portion or second act typical in novels. The shortened nature of the book does not leave much room for character growth, and both main and secondary characters are largely static or even caricatured throughout. But though the story can be a tad in your face with the Christian themes at times (this is Frank Peretti after all), it is exciting, engaging, and page turning up to the final, action-packed pages. This is definitely a novel I would recommend putting on your reading list if you fall between the ages of 10 and 14.
Awesome books from an awesome writer

It's Frank Peretti's brilliant novel writing skills...condensed! It's a super-cool family of archeologists--minus a mother--who investigate phenomena in the spirit of Indiana Jones, only with a Christian perspective. The Door in the Dragon's Throat introduces us to our heroes, as they travel to the deserts of Nepal to investigate the mysterious Door that causes so much fear and panic. Their Christian beliefs are challenged, their lives threatened, and their strength tested before the book?s end. And you won't believe the ending. It's...out of this world. ;)It's an action-packed mini-novel for kids, and even grown-ups, if they are so inclined. There's action, suspense, intrigue, and some scary stuff too! And you gotta love Dr. Cooper?s .357!Here's a little parental warning though, in case you are wondering what kind of stuff might be inappropriate for younger kiddos. The group come across some skeletons of past searchers, and there is a VERY intense scene at the end...but I read them when I was only 10, and it didn't give me any nightmares.Excellent novels, with great Christian morals packed in too. Forget Harrison Ford! Grab a copy of...The Door in the Dragon's Throat!!
Excellent Series

When I was younger I read the first four books in this series. I had no idea that religious fiction could be so good. Now after reading several of his other works, Peretti has become my favorite author. As for the guy who claims "hidden agendas," Peretti is a well known RELIGIOUS writer. I also believe that on the back of the book it mentions the characters spiritual beliefs. I didn't find the characters shallow, but strong in heart. Every book was suspensful and hard to put down.

This is the best book that I have ever read. The enthralment and the mystery will keep you that you don't want to put it down. The author has a vivid immagination but yet the moral of the story is so real that you will make sure that you can follow God in the direction that he wants. To me there should not be an age limit on this book young adults and the older one will love it just the same. I hope that Mr. Peretti never stops writing books with the adventures of the Cooper Kids. Richard I am 13 and would recommend this 150% to all.....
The Best Book Every Written

The Door in the Dragon's Throat was so powerful and exciting. I could have read it all in two minutes, it was so good. Frank Peretti has always been my favorite author because sometimes, I like to read 100 pages or so of how powerful God really is compared to Satan. I thought it was very thrilling and it kept my heart pounding the whole time I read it because it is reality. Here is another 5 star comment on this wonderful book. Don't listen to that 1 star comment because they don't know what they talking about! They are crazy to think an excellent Christian book showing how God is so powerful is bad for their children! It is definately a must for all young Christian readers.
EXCITING
