Book Overview

Introducing the writer Stephen King trumpets as “the next suspense superstar” Recently Stephen King devoted an entire Entertainment Weekly column to Meg Gardiner, proclaiming her “as good as Michael Connelly and far better than Janet Evanovich.” How is it possible, he wondered, that this Californian was published only in Britain? Starting now, suspense fans on this side of the pond can get their fix right here: Dutton is proud to introduce Gardiner’s...

So good, it's habit forming!

This is my first Meg Gardiner book, and as a result, I have purchased several more... Yes, it was that good! I thoroughly enjoyed the masterful way that Gardiner constructed both the story and characters. They have history and life beyond the pages; their wounds are deep, real, and color every action and thought, just as they do with each of us. Equally masterful was the detail and descriptive passages that brought the San Francisco setting to life. This is the sort of thing that adds authority to the written word and makes the story believable and vivid. I whole heartedly recommend The Dirty Secrets Club to any fan of psychological thrillers and crime drama. You will not be disappointed.

fascinating, riveting and engrossing. both a plot and character driven thrill ride til the end.

A masterpiece of action, suspense and psychological tension

Crime fiction fans with a penchant for solid, real settings and involving thrillers will love THE DIRTY SECRETS CLUB, a masterpiece of action, suspense and psychological tension. Here a series of unusual, vivid public murder-suicides has San Francisco - and forensic psychiatrist Jo Beckett - up in arms. When Jo discovers the connections between the flamboyant suicides is an entity called The Dirty Secrets Club, her probes reveal shady motives and the possible exposure of her own long-held, darkest secret by a cult of dangerous madmen. Any collection specializing in crime, mystery or thriller novels needs this. Diane C. Donovan California Bookwatch

It's not a secret that Meg Gardiner writes great books!

This is the third book of Meg Gardiner's I have read and it didn't disappoint. We are introduced to Jo Beckett, our new heroine in the Dirty Secrets Club. As with the Evan Delaney novels, Gardiner makes her main character bright and likable. This novel has an unusual spin, Dr. Beckett profiles people psychologically after they are murdered. When I originally read the teasers I was under the impression that it was some sort of paranormal autopsy, but it is a psychological autopsy with no paranormal slant at all(maybe the Stephen King recommendations led me in that direction). I couldn't put this book down and now am eagerly awaiting the next Gardiner book to be made available in the U.S.

The Dirty Secret Club

This book is excellent. I couldn't put it down. Meg Gardiner is an excellent author and keeps you in suspense until the end. I can't wait for her next book!!
