The Book that changed my life!

First let me say that Jimmy Moore does NOT know what he is talking about! He has it wrong right from the start because the author is NOT a baker from Portland, Oregon. He is a baker from Portland, Maine. Now you can make your own judgements on the rest of his review. It is true the beginning can make your head spin with all the unnecessary information, but if you perservere and read it through to the actual eating plan and recipes, you will find it makes alot of sense.Don't worry if you don't understand what he is talking about with all the formulas and numbers. It doesn't matter. I started eating according to this book and I have lost 17 lbs in 2 1/2 months. No added exercise! I am NEVER hungry and I feel great. I had stomach trouble and decided to follow this just for the sake of cutting out processed foods. Believe me, it IS as easy as it sounds. I love the food, never feel deprived and I can't believe how well it works. If you have tried everything else, you might as well try this. You won't be sorry and it definitely cannot hurt you! I started losing weight the first week and it continues. I can't say enough about this book, and NO, I don't know the author. I had never heard of him until I saw him on PBS. Its a great book, great recipes, great food.

Easy Enjoyable and About time!

OK! OK! Da Vinci, The Code, Renaissance! Why not?! I'd rather read about things that truely support what I have studied/ lived and how I have always known how to eat than any of the other "Diet garb" books out there, which I don't waste my time or money on. The only word I do have a problem with here is the word "DIET". That aside, ignore "dieting" Live healthy and Mangia bene' (Eat Well)

What's Not to Like?

If I can have bread, wine and dessert...I'm all set. Finding out HOW to do this--so easily and with such interesting stories--makes this an excellent diet book. I liked that some "recipes" just involved putting certain items on a plate together--permission to live easily instead of struggling with weights, measures and lots of time in the kitchen. Much more fun to ead than your usual diet books!

Not just hype.

This book is for anyone that would like to learn an easy way to relearn how to eat for enjoyment and health. If you have been through the Lo or No Carb ride, or just a poor eater you will greatly benefit from this beautifully written and extremely informative book. I have had the book for only 1 week and began to follow it feeling a wonderful difference in this short period of time. There is a satisfied, energetic, healthy calmness. Whether you like to get fancy with your cooking or just enjoy a simple preparation this will give you a better understanding of what your body needs and wants. No more feelings of being deprived or stressed, and the constant hunger or thinking of food is gone. After you begin eating this way its like your body is saying "thanks for finally getting it right".

I love this book!

I just got this book yesterday and I can't put it down. Mr. Lanzalotta's ideas make perfect sense---eating real food (as opposed to processed, manufactured food) in the right 'macronutrient-mix' will keep us satisfied, healthy, energetic and at our ideal body-weight. I am fascinated by the mathematical patterns found in nature. We are a part of nature, so why wouldn't those same patterns be found in us? The recipes look fabulous--Simple, real delicious meals for meat-eaters and vegetarians. I can't wait to try them! I am thinking of traveling all the way to Maine this summer (I live in Florida) just to visit Sophia, the author's bakery/cafe.
