The Deen Bros. Take It Easy: Quick and Affordable Meals the Whole Family Will Love: A Cookbook

I liked this book. Offers quick, easy and tasty meals using ingredients that are usually in your pantry or staples you use frequently. Nothing too hard or to time consuming. Simple recipes for busy moms/dads that are tasty.

Another great cookbook with nice family story touches throughout from the Deen Family! Great cookbook...great restaurant. This is real southern cooking!!

I have at least 8 of the Dean family cookbooks, which includes all of the Dean Bros. This cookbook is wonderful. The recipes are fast, easy enough to make, and you probably have most of the ingredient already at home. Tonight I made the quick braised chicken with rosemary and potatoes, and it was a big hit with my family. I am looking forward to making most of the recipes in this book.

This has some of the most yummy food in it! I have tried some of them and they are as easy as they say. I will be getting a copy for my daughter for christmas. I also went to one of their book signings and had it autographed. The boys are very nice and very easy to talk to. Paula did a great job raising two great guys!!!

For once a book that delivers what it promises! Besides the fact that the recipes are great...comfort food like mac n cheese, and new twists like huevos rancheros...it is full of clever little tips that make everything clear and easy. Sometimes, just following a recipe isn't enough...there is always one little instruction that makes a difference in the final product if you don't quite get it. But, with the tips it has proven to be fail-safe, even for me. I am one of those people that can be a disaster in the kitchen...I am always in a hurry and never have enough time. I don't home cook as often as I should. But this book has inspired me to stop the nasty fast food habit and cook something tasty and healthful for my family...and you know...in the end I am saving time. Yippee!

I was interested in this book because of their promotion that the meals are primarily easy, healthy and child friendly. I pretty much agree with it all. Though there are several recipes with a high spice level, there are many mild recipes like the Pesto Chicken with cherry tomatoes and Apple Cider Pork Tenderloin that my child will eat. The cookbook has many informative sections such as the contents of a well stocked pantry as well as great pictures of the whole Deen crew. The "Jack Favorites" section offers a healthy spin on child friendly foods. (I liked the idea of adding avocados to a cheese quesadilla.) Overall I found the cookbook to be well organized, informative and easy to read with uncomplicated, yet appealing recipes.
