A mother and a daughter hold hands as they walk down a dirt path surrounded by trees in the forest. There are so many cute critters, but which one of them is the cutest? There is the black bear cub who is fast asleep in the branches of a tree. There is a wobbly little fawn just learning to stand in a field full of daisies and clover. It's hard to decide which of them is the cutest. Perhaps you might think it is a young foal peeking around his mother or the baby rose-breasted grosbeak who holds his beak open for a feeding. A fox kitt leaning on a fallen log is certainly a charmer, but a pair of chubby wolf cubs makes choosing the cutest creature a difficult task. "Baby raccoons in s struggle? / Or lynx kittens having a snuggle." A wolf pup jumping up to nuzzle and kiss his mother is adorable, but how about a little gosling swimming amongst the reeds with his brothers and sisters? There is a nursing bison, a pair of baby skunks, and racoon triplets. The decision is hard, but who do you think is the cutest critter of all? This delightful book of cute critters will be a surefire page turner with the little ones who love anything "baby." The rhyming sequence added a nice touch to the tale and would be an excellent choice for story or circle time. Each animal was photographed in its element and the background of the written text was placed against a faded nature scene, making the layout of this book very appealing and attractive. In the back of the book is a "Critter Corner" where the reader will learn the "baby name," its "cute factor," and a brief paragraph about the species. The two previous books by this dynamic duo both garnered Mom's Choice Awards.
