Okay so the first time I read this I hated it. I don’t like the fmc, and I didn’t like the book…. But I’d already purchased book 2 so after a LONG break I reread it so I could read book two… anyways a year later I’ve read it 5 times and I still don’t like the fmc but I’ll begrudgingly admit I may or may not have enjoyed it enough to read the series nearly half a dozen times. So good! This lives up to the hype. I'm not usually a fan of fantasy but this was so good. It is the first in the Folk of the Air series, so there is a lot of world building in this. I've read the entire series, so be rest assured that the slowburn enemies to lovers between Cardan and Jude comes to an HEA. I definitely recommend this to anyone is just starting to get into fantasy.

At times I found myself a bit bored. But all in all, I really enjoyed this series even though I’m not a huge fantasy fan. The lore and the characters were interesting and it was well written.

There's no doubt you've seen this book all over TikTok and Wattpad, because I certainly have. I bit into temptation and decided to buy this book and I was not disappointed. I generally never liked fantasy novels, but this just completely changed my mind. I just ordered the next 2 books in the series and cannot wait to binge read them. If you are looking for a page-turning, deep fantasy read, keep looking. If you are a tween or younger, you might enjoy this book. For anyone older I absolutely would not recommend. I had to force myself to complete it just to see what happens. Unfortunately it was highly predictable and I could not stop rolling my eyes at the ABC Family style drama.
