Feininger's books are all in a somewhat pedantic style which has long gone out of favour, but they were far ahead of most of the competition in their day. They were current when I was starting into photography, and I bought this one to round out my collection - more out of nostalgia than anything. Despite all that, there's still a lot of relevant wisdom in these pages.
