Book Overview

Seven years ago Amanda Carson watched her affluent, well-respected family lose both face and fortune. Then her childhood crush--ice-cold cowboy Jace Whitehall--made her an offer she had to refuse. Now Amanda has returned to Casa Verde, Jace's luxurious home. And Jace isn't about to let her forget who she is or what she's lost. Yet beneath their heated words, something simmers, waiting. More Jace Please :)

He was a shadow from her past... Jace Whitehall had given Amanda her first taste of passion. His silver eyes had held a forbidden fascination for her, but at sixteen she had been too inexperienced to understand the fiery message in his searing kisses. Now all that had changed. She was a grown woman, ready to learn the lessons of desire, and there was only one man who could teach her -- a man whose glittering gaze held both the secrets of her unhappy past and the promise of a golden future... I LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! [And definitely couldn't get enough of Jace and his temper!] :) This is for sure a MUST read for all Diana Palmer fans- it's by far my absolute favorite! It grabbed my attention from the first page... I couldn't put it down!

A POWERFUL BOOK

THE COWBOY AND THE LADY automatically grabbed me from the first page and didn't let go until about the hundredth page. Very powerful! I couldn't put it down, needing desperately to find out what was going to happen next. About the middle of the book the writing/story settled down. There were something's, as a writer, I would have done differently. The abruptness of the main characters hatred and love for one another's constant changing was a little over the edge. But still, it was we written and a good story. If Ms. Palmer could have carried out the intensity she had from the first half, I would have easily marked this book as one of my top avorites. I had to wonder what became of, Tess. She appeared to be such a powerful character that would have been a great source of tension between the main characters. She seemed to up and vanish without a fight, never to be seen again. It would have been nice to see it played out before her sudden disappearance. This story was a good learning tool for me as an aspiring writer. I see the gapes, missing pieces to my own writing reflected in this story. It also gave me hope. Hope in that if Diana Palmer can go from this, to where she is today, then one day I can, too.

Great reading

Loved it, loved it, loved it. But I am a sucker for a good book by Diana Palmer.

Classic Diana Palmer!

The Cowboy and the Lady is a must read for all Diana Palmer fans. It has all the trademarks of her writing; dominant man, woman down on her luck who adores the hero, but hates him in the same breath. Great Valentines Day read for true romantics. At 18, Amanda Carson left west Texas, family scandal and a man she was determined to forget. But the Whitehall empire was vast, and when the powerful Texas family wanted something-including Amanda and her advertising agency-they got it. At sprawling Casa Verde, old fires were burning with intense fury. Jace Whitehall, a man Amanda hated and desired with equal intensity, was ready and waiting to finish what began years ago. Now, they must confront searing truths about both their families. Long-buried secrets that shattered so many lives are about to be exposed. And the very thing that drove Amanda from this land may be the only thing able to keep her there.I bought this book as an original issue and have kept it since. It is one of my all-time favorites as it is a definite KEEPER for any true romance novel lover. If you enjoyed her Long, Tall Texans series, Rawhide Man, Cattleman's Choice or Friends and Lovers, you will LOVE this book!
