REViEW!

This book is so funny! One of the most enjoyable books i've read. It is great for elementary schoolers, and it's crazy twists and turns will keep your little child from falling asleep while you read it...

The Cookie Company

The Cookie Company by Ross Venokur is about a boy named Alex Grindley who goes through many problems. He thinks he has bad luck. One day he goes to a fantasy world. He needed a way to get home. He gets help by people and some fortune cookies. The fortune cookies told him where to go next. Alex has to go through many stages to go home. Some stages that he had to through where the mountains, he had to play a game called Twist of Fate (you would go to the next stage only if you won), and going through Cypress Vine's body. While he is on his journey a big problem comes in the way. Alex meets an evil game show host named Cypress Vine. Alex thinks that he has so much bad luck or low-esteem that he can not make it home. Alex thinks he has a lot of bad luck. A reason why he thinks that is because he thinks there is something in your body named hoodoo. He thinks that hoodoo is where bad things happen. When it swells up, unlucky things happen to him. I think the only reason Alex has bad luck is because he thinks that he does. During his adventure he gained confidence while he was playing the game called Twist of Fate. One of his friends named Manfred, who was helped him beat Cypress Vine was motivating Alex to take a chance (chance is part of the game). The next time it was Alex's turn he took a chance and got 15 space to go ahead and there where only 15 more spaces. Alex won. He had to win that game so he can go home. Cypress Vine and Manfred, who where also playing the game had to stay in the game box forever since they didn't win. He got so much confidence after that game. This book was very interesting. The boy in the book, Alex has very low-esteem in the beginning. At the end of the adventure Alex got confidence. So if you read it you will get confidence. I really liked the book very much. I would give the book a 10 if the scale where 1-10 ( 10 the highest). This book was very interesting. You would never know what is going to happen next. I think that people who have low-esteem should read this book. After you finish this book you will have confidence and not low-esteem. People who also like fantasy should also read this book. This was the best book I ever read.

Sensational!

Ross Venokur has done it again! The Cookie Company is a sensational follow up to this young author's first remarkable novel, The Amazing Frecktacle. The Cookie Company surrounds a powerfully empathetic character with inventive word play, hilarious humor, and fast paced action. Following Alex Grindlay's topsy turvy adventure as he tries to defeat the megamaniacal Cypree Vine, return home, and change his own luck, is nothing short of a delight! The message we all learn when Alex cures his own Hoodooitis is timeless and priceless. This book is a must read for children and parents everywhere.
