The Contented Child's Food Bible

I LOVE Gina Ford's routines for newborns, and have a number of her books, so thought I would try this book too. In the Contented Child's Food Bible she works with a special dietitian to give solid info on everything to do with the food your child should be eating, quantities, best type of foods for lunch, dinner etc for sleep reasons, nutritional information and the balance your child's diet needs. I tell you my baby eats a better more balanced diet than my husband and I do, and she is growing like a weed and sleeping well and I am convinced it is to do with her eating habits. This book has definately educated me and helped me prepare a very rounded diet for my baby. Do be prepared for a LOT of information and no recipes but very useful to educate yourself.

As any of Gina Ford's books, the Contented Child's Food Bible is loaded with useful, practical, updated information, ranging from what makes a portion of protein, to what are the most common allergic reactions and what symptoms they have, to what commercial foods really have inside. The book also has lots of very interesting case studies, some related to fussy eating, other to bad food habits. The approach and solutions suggested by Gina to solve those situation are practical and reasonable, and so are the strategies the authors offer to establish good food habits. The book lacks recipes and menus, though, which can be found in other of Gina's books (as well as in other good publications). This could come as a surprise if you thought of buying one book that has it all (as the title suggests).
