Decisions Must Be Made

I read this book several years ago, but it still comes to mind quite often. I read the entire Lancaster Series by B. Lewis, and was amazed by the insites into the world of the Amish. This book takes the main character away from the Plain folk and brings them to the world of her worldly, wealthy birth mother. It shows the decisions that she must make to determine where God is leading her. I recommended this series to my sister-in-law. And she indicated that though this was not the type of book she reads, she actually loved the series.

An excellent book. A cliffhanger of sorts.

When I bought these books as a set from Guideposts, it seems like I took a chance. But then I have wanted to read about the Amish. And I'm glad that I did. When I finished The Shunning, I could not wait to start reading The Confession, and then The Reckoning. The Confession taught me to find where your heart is at, even if it means that you have to make sacrifices. In all, it took me four days to read all three books. If there are more fictional books about the Amish, I like to read them. However, I would like to close by saying hello to the Amish and God Bless Them. They are wonderful people.

EXCELLENT SERIES

I read the whole series. The story was so realistic and interesting. I read the last book slow because I didn't want it to end. Ican't wait for Beverly Lewis's next book. She writes so well. Just enough details to make it interesting.

Good, clean reading, filled with intrigue, suspense, mystery

I finished the first book, The Shunning, only to feel completely lost and frustrated...surely this was a cruel hoax....it could not be ending, there must be more. I was not disappointed! There WAS more, indeed, in this second book! Wow! For the first time in all my reading days, I found it completely impossible to resist frantically searching through the pages to be sure this or that did, in fact, happen...things just could NOT go on as they were...I could not wait to find out by reading a page at a time...I had to frantically search the pages until I knew... The continuation of the story of Katherine, Laura, her Amish family, Mary, and the wise old woman...and the bishop...and her true love...this story took so many strange turns and curves, it was impossible to second guess the author. Suspense ruled! Bev Lewis never let me wander from the story line....how could I? I practically read the book straight through! It was just glued to my hands and would NOT go down until I was done. Book #3? PLEEEEEZE!!
