Very accurate

I learned arabic at the Defense Language Institute, which is, without question, the best language school in the world. We used the Hahns-Wehr Arabic-English dictionary, which is probably the best you'll ever get, and the Almawrid. I found the Almawrid very inaccurate, we had native speakers for teachers and many times when I asked about a specific word, they would tell me it was wrong, rarely used, or they had never heard it before. The Almawrid usually gives a number of words for a definition, and one, maybe two, or none of the words acutally meant what they were supposed to mean. Because of this, many of the students ordered The Concise Oxford English-Arabic Dictionary. It is very accurate. True, it is not for beginners, but for anyone who can read arabic, it is one of the best English-Arabic dictionaries you'll find. There is also a much larger version of this dictionary, I haven't used it, but I assume it has more definitions in it.

The Best Out There

This is the only english to arabic dictionary you'll find that gives you thorough examples of usage. There is simply no substitute for the Oxford English to Arabic for Arabic students of any level. The british colloquialisms can be very funny to the American reader. (...)Apart from the quirks it is extremely handy.

Very good Eng-Arab dictionary

This is most likely the best English to Arabic dictionary on the market for native ENGLISH speakers. Most E-A dictionaries are made for native Arabic speakers, and assume you know what the Arabic that your reading is. This is more English-speaker friendly. Only downside of the book is that it is only in hardback, which makes it difficult to pull out of your pocket and flip through quickly. Highly recommend over most E-A dictionaries, unless you are a native ARABIC speaker.

undoubtedly the best dictionary

I have made it encumbant upon myself to learn arabic and I have read many dictionaries on the market. Thereby I can say that this is simply the best, because not only does it give the past and present verb forms, but it also gives the plural of nouns! One can never hope to learn arabic without this book, thats just a fact.
