The Complete Book of Farmyard Tales (Usbourne Farmyard Tales)

We love this book and always look for it to gift to others. The artwork is adorable. The repetition is great for early readers. Even my two year old loves trying to find the duck on each page.

I live in Japan and I have two children. They love for me to read this book to them. There are so many things you can do with each story to keep children interested. I wish there were more like this one.

my daughter love this book so much, mostly if bought a thick book like this, they don't have so many picture in it, but this book have picture on every pages and make her interested to read and look it so much. but if you ready collect this book please don't buy The little book of train stories (book n cd).

Fabulous book with great illustrations! I love the fact that you can read the entire page, or just the top portion for younger children with a minimum attention span. Would highly reccommend it to anyone!

My son loves the Farmyard Tales so its great to have them all in one book. The only disadvantage is that he wants me to read the whole thing! Which is why the CD is so good. It teaches him to listen and to concentrate on going through the book himself. A good quality book, I like the fact that it comes with a ribbon bookmark too.

We initially bought a couple of the Farmyard Tales single stories and they proved such a hit with our almost two year old that when I saw the complete volume I had to buy it! A bonus to this edition is that it features a map of Apple Tree Village and surrounds, and my children love it when we finish the book and get to pore over the map once again before starting over at the first story. The stories and simple and charming and feature the same family and animals through the volume. Each page has a concise explanation of the story at the top of the page and a more complex version at the bottom. BRILLIANT for emerging readers! My children love seeing the same Apple Tree Farm characters come up again and again. Naughty Woolly the sheep is a special favourite - I think because she appeals to the mischief in them! At age 2 my son enjoyed the stories at bedtime. By 2 1/2 he was able to "read" (from memory) the first page of each story which is the same in each of the 20 tales. Not long after 3 he could actually spell Apple and Tree. After his own name and the word "the", words from these stories were the next to be learned. His learning from these stories was self directed and it's been such a pleasure to witness. At 4 1/2 now he reads the stories himself to his 2 year old brother. I can't rate this volume of stories highly enough!
