Although published in the eighties, this book is essential reading for fans of all ages of BMX racing and freestyle riding. As publisher of one of the original and probably best publications on the sport,Bob Osborn gives the reader a historical and visual feast of information regarding the racers, the techniques, and the all around feel of BMX. It is also interesting to note that many of the riders showcased in the book can still be seen today on ESPN and X-Game coverage. Bob Osborn makes it a point to bring quality photography as well as the information needed to promote the sport to the public without appealing specifically to only the younger age groups. All of these points coupled with the fact that his son,R.L Osborn, is heavily featured in the book as a very talented freestylist, makes it great reading for all fans of BMX. If you can find it, buy it.

I THOUGHT BOB OSBORN DID A GREAT JOB ON THE HISTORY OF BMX, HOW IT STARTED AND EVOLVED. LOTS OF PHOTOS AND CLOSE UPS. BOB WAS PUBLISHER OF BMX ACTION MAGAZINE, WHICH GAVE HIM THE SKILLS TO BECOME A PUBLISHER OF THIS BOOK. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT BMX IS ALL ABOUT THIS IS THE BOOK TO READ AND REVIEW.
