This "compact guide" is just that. It provides a general overview with details (including humorous & sarcastic examples), of the subject matter in each chapter. As a first year law student, I'm finding it an excellent "preview" of what I'll be up against as I try to read my casebook. Since it's now out of print, I would recommend tracking down and buying a used copy. I've already ordered its companion volume "The Compact Guide to Tort Law".
