an interesting premise.

It wasn't until after I finished, that I had read a basically G rated fantasy/scifi book in one sitting. Not only did the author develop a solid storyline but kept to his guns in keeping the characters the driving force. I found the relationships, battle plans & lack of tech integral in the direction the author decided to take us. I enjoyed the ride & hope others will, as I pass my copy on & look forward to reading the next installment. thanks

Perhaps the perfect book

I was very surprised to discover that a fantasy book set in a science fiction future could be so believable, engrossing, and just plain fun. Usually this genre is an embarassment to read! The book is serious yet witty. The main character, Prince Scar, has real character flaws and yet the reader is drawn along to view the world through his eyes and sees even the most dire circumstances with humor, cowardice, and underlying honor. A very fine read which I highly recommend!!!

SUPERB

A well-written story that immerses the reader into a futuristic post-holocast feudal society where technology is illegal. Incredibly enjoyable story with characters that beg to be noticed! Well worth reading!

EXCELLENT

I really enjoyed this book. The plot moves along at a fast pace and the characters are believable. It is hard to believe that this is a 1st book. I am afraind this will be one of those great ones that got away from many people.

One of the best first novels I've read.

A book with the feel of fantasy and sold as fantasy, yet it follows the rules for science fiction. Everything is plausable, nothing is pulled out of a hat. The setting is the Ohio Valley in the future where royalty has returned. The charaters are likeable and leave the reader wanting the next book.
