From a gifted voice in women's fiction comes a special gift for the holiday season. When Sarah McDowell's and Mary Sutton discover that their grown children are in love, the women must set aside old rivalries to let new love nurture and grow.
The Christmas Basket is a book that needs to be shared with someone and then a need to keep on going. The story is written for everyone...and we all need a little reminding on just what is important in life. I received this book as a gift and have now passed it on...and it has made its way into the hearts of many others. Debbie Macomber writes the words we all need to hear but at times are afraid to feel. This is a book of great calm and rejoicing....sharing and love!

The Christmas basket is a wonderful story. It shows how little things become a huge problem and avoiding people and your home isnt the best thing. That is the lesson that Noelle McDowell and Tom Sutton learned. In this story these high school sweet hearts are joined again as the try to get thier mothers friendship back. I rate this book five stars it is a very good story. I reccomend this book to anyone over the age of 12.
A wonderful holiday indulgence

As a relatively new reader of the romance genre, I was surprised by the great development of the characters in this book. Seeing good people at their worst was so much fun. It had great humor. I was cracking up through most of the book. This is NOT one of those sappy sweet sticky books. It is not the least bit smutty. I would be quite comfortable to let a young girl who likes romances read this. If you need a quick read to lift your holiday spirits, or to give you a holiday spirit any time that you need it, pick up this book. I will pick up more from this author. This would make a great chick film. (Sorry, not for they guys, not explosions, no nudity!)
A Great Christmas Read!!

This is another winner for me, I can picture this book being made into a movie. I loved this story about two moms that use to be the best of friends, then one day Sarah McDowell, had borrowed Mary Sutton's antique tea service and never returned it, It was stolen and Mary never forgave Sarah for it, they stopped talking for twenty years. Sarah's daughter Noelle and Mary son Thom, were high school sweethearts. They were going to meet at the park and elope, Noelle thinking that Thom had stood her up and Thom thinking that Noelle stood him up Noelle leaves and moves away, it has been ten years and she is finally coming home for her sister's wedding. She has to face Thom and what happen 10 years ago, she is hoping she can put this all behind her. In order for Sarah to book the hall for her daughters wedding she has to help with the Christmas Baskets and she has to work a long side with Mary, they both made me laugh so much, whenever they got together, both being stubborn and neither of them moving an inch to become friends again, sometimes it makes you think when you have had a friend who was your best friend at one time and something has become between you to and you feel that you can never get that friendship back, but if the friendship is worth it then it's worth saving. Happy Reading Lisa
