This is one of the best romantic novels I've read in a while. It is a great story without too much cheesy dialogue as you see in other novels. The story is about a woman (Eleanor) who at seventeen, eloped with a man (Viscount Lennox) almost twice her age. After her father caught up to them, Lennox never attempted to reunite with her. Eleanor was crushed for the next ten years of her life. After all of this time, Eleanor's niece falls in love with a young man (Simon) who turns out to be Lennox's son. Eleanor is opposed to such a relationship until she finds a man (Merriot) whom she begins to love intensely. Despite Merriot's tainted reputation, Eleanor believes she has found the man of her dreams. This a very unique story. It is unlike any plot I've read before. The author is not afraid to cross the bounderies of innocence. Eleanor is a tough character. One of the best woman protagonists I've read about. Merriot is the perfect character. Makes you adore him yourself. A must read if you enjoy romantic novels. It's a different twist on your ordinary romantic love plots.
