Book Overview

When I was six months old, I dropped from the sky -- the lone survivor of a deadly Japanese plane crash. The newspapers named me Heaven. I was adopted by a wealthy family in Tokyo, pampered, and protected. For nineteen years, I thought I was lucky.
I'm learning how wrong I was.

A Sheltered Life
Life is good back in Japan where I'm safe and papered as a princess though I miss the freedom I had in L.A. But now maybe I'll finally...

I wish it were different

I liked the book a lot. I could not put it down at all. But I was not exacly happy with the way she ended the book. I would have been a lot happier if Carrie Asai would have some how made everything just cease witht the mafia and the hunting. Then Hiro and Heaven could have walked off together into the sunset and had a happy life together. But no.. she had to go off and make Heaven hate Hiro and then kill him. Urr... Heaven acted so self centered during this book, not the Heaven in the other books. And Teddy.. urr i don't like him and never will. If Carrie makes them fall in love and get married.. ooooo that would not be good at all. I read the first 5 hating Teddy for what he did and what he does. Now Heaven thinks that he is better than Hiro. NOT AT ALL! Overall the series was amazing.. but could have ended better in my point of view.

What is gonna happen!

This book continues the story of Heaven Kogo and her search to find out what her family is really up to and how they're connected to the Yakuza. The Heavean-Hiro-Teddy love triangle still exists, but the lines of certainty are starting to blur in Heaven's mind. She finds herself wondering if she still loves Hiro as strongly as she did before and what is to become of her and Teddy? She finds she cares for Teddy also to some degree. Who will she choose and why? Will she find out why her brother is dead? Will she find out why Meiko is so shifty and why the attacker that dragged her friend to a train station seems to be sent by Meiko? So many unanswered questions and so little time and saftey to figure them out. Read the book, suckas! SPOILERS! THE FOLLOWING IS FOR THOSE WHO'VE FINISHED THE BOOK!: I just finished Books One through Six and I'm dying over here! What am I going to do utnil the next book? There's no newsletter to let me know if Carrie Asai is even writing book seven! I've wanted Heaven and Teddy to hook up since book two, but not like this! I just thought that Heaven and Hiro would hook up, find out that they weren't suppose to be together after all, and that would leave her and Teddy to hook up. I liked the allure of Heaven and Hiro being together, but they had different goals in life. Hiro was so serious and 'Samurai way this, Samurai way that'. He was soo not the best Heaven could do. But, even though Teddy is involved with the Yakuza, he's still a sweety. I wanted them to hook up as soon as Carrie revealed that Teddy loved her. I knew they would (this is just a guess at the next book) cuz why else would she put that in the book, but I just didn't think it would be like this. I always thought that Heaven should have married Teddy when they spent those days together at that hotel place to make the death threats stop and try to make both their families legit. She would have fallen for him eventually anyway. I mean, if she would have gotten with Hiro, they would have eventually fallen out of love with each other (they're so not compatible) and she would have put him in danger for no reason. But, she HAD to learn the hard way. Now, Hiro's gone and what does she have? guilt. Now, she'll give Teddy Hiro's sloppy seconds. He deserves better than that in my opinion. He deserved the untainted Heaven!

HIRO GONE?

I just can't believe it. Please tell me Hiro isn't dead yet. Sensei can't die. He might have been flawed but he just can't die! Everything he did he did out of love for Heaven. She's still young and idealistic. She has to realize that you can't always do things the way you wanna do them. The world is not black and white. It's gray. To survive, you have to bend the rules a little and go with the flow. Hiro might have been trapped. Yet, he still managed to get Heaven to America. He did not compromise her. He played by his elders' rules so Heaven could escape. But did he have to die in the process? Hiro changed Heaven. He was the one who created Samurai Girl. Gosh! They were all just victims of this duty to your family thing. The Teddy-Heaven match seems a bit off now. He might seem a bit more attractive and more human now but still? Who wants to run around with a gangsta, complete with Colombian druggie friends? Hiro's duty to his family and yakuza ties is more understandable than gunrunning and drug deals. Oh well, I might be wrong. Teddy might still turn out to be better that he is now. But did Hiro have to die?

this book is creepy and good

(...)remember some books ago when teddy said his love for heaven, will she find out about it and then what will happen (he did leave her to fend for herself at tijana) hey, at least now she has sara to help her. she really shouldn't of slept wit hiro on the sub tho, that shoulda happened in the hotel room, then they wouldn't of had that fight. i think hiro turned to (or at least went back to japan) b/c in the book of the flame heaven left him...wonder what will happen next, i really want to know
