Fairly comfortable witch read

I read this in 2 sittings, absolutly loved it! Have to get the next one. It's a good shake on a modern witch and her past that keeps coming back to haunt her and steal her soul.

The Witch's Daughter

This book was fantastic! I couldn't put it down. The story of Elizabeth Hawksmith who is an immortal witch and must rely on her skills and smarts to survive. I loved this book and am looking forward to reading the second book in the series. A must read!

Very disappointing

I was really disappointing with this. It started out very strong, but became dismal and almost boring. The characters are very one-dimensional and un-likable. I had high hopes for this book. It was a struggle to come to the conclusion, which was a huge letdown.

A worth while read.

I greatly enjoyed this book. There is a line of other witch books by this author, some following the same story and some not. The continuation of this one is "Return of the Witch." I plan on reading that one too. The book follows the immortal witch Elizabeth Hawksmith through the ages. It begins with her in modern times when we learn that the novel itself is actually the journal of Elizabeth, then travels back to the era of the plague, to modern times, back to when Jack the Ripper prowled the streets, and once more to modern times. A dark wizard has been stalking Elizabeth all through out her years and her journal tells the story of each time she had to fight him off. It can be tough to read at times with the graphic nature, but not terrible enough that you skip over the pages. I had a difficult time putting this book down, in fact and look forward to reading the other witch books by Paula Brackston.
