At Last!

It's about time someone took Revelation 1:1 seriously. John told us that the book was about Jesus, and that's how Dan Lioy treats it.Most commentaries on Revelation try to solve Rubik's Cube and tell us exactly what will happen when. And the result is pure nonsense. Dr. Lioy avoids this temptation completely by focusing directly on the Savior. Every part of the book reveals Jesus in one way or another, and Dan shows us these glimpses of glory. Every page is material for another sermon on the greatness of God's grace and the ultimate justice of his dealing with man.Coming as it does from an academic origin, Lioy's book interacts with a host of academic material, but never bogs down. While it doesn't read like Yancey, it is never heavy enough to make you want to put it down. Instead, it is full of meat, and ready for the table. No student of Revelation should miss it.Ted Noel, author of I Want to be Left Behind.

The Book of Revelation in Christological Focus

This book was chosen as a textbook for Trinity Theological Seminary. As a student of the Bible, I found the book to be honest and forthcoming, and a fresh, revealing stance concerning the Christological approach to the Book of Revelation. There has been very little research in this area of Christology, and Dr. Lioy fills in many gaps. Bible students, laypersons, as well as pastors or theologians should find this book to be of value in applying a Christological focus to the study of Revelation. Dr. Lioy makes no secret of his Christian beliefs or his evangelical purpose for the writting of this text.
