Stunning ... really captures the wonders of nature

This is a beautiful book. The photos are amazing and the text can really help inspire further research. I bought this for my 7 year old son and know I will be buying more for gifts for kids of various ages. Adults will also treasure this, I loved reading this and the pictures really help give me a renewed and deeper appreciation for where we live!

Beautiful to look at. Interesting to read.

My seven year old likes to read this book with me. It helps nuture the natural sense of wonder that he has about the world around him and really captures his interest. The pictures are truly breath taking. There seems to be a preponderance of North American content, but also a nice mix from around the world.

Really amazing photos

I just saw this book at a book trade show this weekend. Not only as a children's writer but as an adult I was blown away by these photos of often strange places and things I'd never heard about or seen in pictures before. Two great things about this book--you the adult parent won't be wanting to turn the page, and you and any child reading the book with you will find yourself asking a lot of very stimulating questions about...
