The Blonde Geisha

The early summer of 1892 brought a heavy rainy season that year in Japan. Plum Rain, the Japanese called it, because it comes when the fruit bulges with ripeness and promise. Like a young girl reaching womanhood. A girl like me. In the ancient Japanese tradition of beauty and grace, sex and erotic fantasies are hidden secrets that only a select few may learn, and which are forbidden to foreigners. But when a threat to her father's life puts her own...

My first erotic novel, ever.

This was the first erotic novel I'd ever read, and at 17, too. Since then, I've read a lot of romance and erotica, and since I'm reading another of Bacarr's novels, I find that she's quicly become one of my favorite writers. Her descriptions are explicit, but still tastefull, which allows me to not roll my eyes at overly explicit sex scenes that leave me gagging. Way too much erotica has sex for the sake of sex. Bacarr is sure to include plenty of romance to keep the reader satisfied.

Great airplane reading--romantic, exciting & poignant

Wow, I just LOVE this book. It is a fabulous read for an airplane and a great addition to any shelf for holiday reading. The perfect book to retreat to when the world gets to busy and the hustle and bustle of shopping, baking and family starts to overwhelm you!. It is a classic story with amazing twists. A father and a daughter separated by war and life and intrigue is the underlying premise. But the focus on what it takes to be a Blonde Geisha in Japan is such a fascinating tale that you feel like you're reading a true life diary! Bacaar writes cinematically (this would make a great MOVIE) and you feel like you're right there in Japan. It's almost as if you're part of her geisha training, her new coming of age experiences and the naive but open sensuality of the Geisha world! Fascnating. You won't wnat to put it down. But you can digest it like I did in small bites of a few pages at a time. It will carry you away from whatever is on your mind to a world beyone. It's almost a fairy tale yet it has a timeless quality of romance!

Awesome Geisha Story

This story is an erotic and sensual eye opener. If you like this type of books, then this is the one for you. I bougth this book 3 days ago and I am in love with it. So bad I can't give it a 10 star. This is an AWESOME GEISHA STORY!!

An Amazing Journey and Story

The ancient tradition of the Geisha has always called to westerner Kathlene Mallory. She has always found the beauty and grace of the Geisha to be mesmerizing so when her father needs to hide her after a failed attempt of leaving her with nuns...he leaves her with Simouye at the Look Back Tree tea room. Here Kathlene learns the fine art of being a Geisha while fighting her natural sensuality. Her time at the Look Back Tree is filled with all kinds of lessons both towards becoming a Geisha and those that are learned while growing up. When she finally finds herself preparing for the final ritual...her selling her virginity to a man...the man that has chosen her is not the one she finds herself dreaming of and desiring. But will her secret desire for a fellow westerner bring ruin to the tea house she has called home and reawaken the danger she was hiding from in the first place? Ms. Bacarr's story is wonderfully sensual, erotic and romantic. Her lyrical style or writing is very unique and adds to the story. Kathlene's journey from young girl to Geisha is spell binding and highly entertaining. Kathlene is a very endearing character as is the rest of the well rounded cast of characters Ms. Bacarr has created. Ms. Bacarr is well on her way to being an extraordinary writer.

Entertaining World of the Japanese Geisha - 4-1/2*

In 1892 Japan, American businessman Edward Mallory is desperately running to hide his 15-year-old daughter Kathlene. He'd made a powerful enemy of Prince Kira and now must flee. Dismayed to find the convent he hoped to hide Kathlene in closed he is forced to bring her to the Teahouse of the Look-Back-Tree where he convinces the beautiful proprietress Simouye (an `okasan') to hide her. Unbeknownst to her father, this was a place Kathlene has secretly desired to enter. Knowing it is forbidden to train a foreigner let alone a blonde green-eyed beauty, Kathlene is thrilled to be able to train to become a geisha. Three years later, with no word from her father Kathlene is anxious to become a full fledged geisha, yet the `okasan' still holds her back. While performing a very sensual dance she draws the attention of the handsome but wicked Baron Tonda who recognizes her as the blonde green-eyed girl he'd been searching for three years. Before he kills her he wants desperately to be the one to take her virginity. At about the same time, American Reed Cantrell found Kathlene and she quickly fell in love. Now the deflowering offer of Baron Tonda became totally unacceptable both to Kathlene and especially to Reed. Knowing that Tonda would destroy the reputation and livelihood of the teahouse Kathlene is ready to comply with the 7 day `very erotic deflowering ritual' while Reed works feverishly to save her! In the end, Kathlene would war over remaining true to her love of the Japanese life of the geisha, or to her love of Reed. *** This debut novel for Jina Bacarr was a total delight demonstrating her love and understanding of the Japanese culture and her excellent writing skills. Most will compare this to the popular `Memoirs of a Geisha' with great detail of the customs and training involved but there is no denying that this will bring much more of a smile to your face where it leans more towards an erotic slanted story with some (for me) humorous descriptions used in describing the male and female anatomy like `dear little slit', `jade stalk', `mushroom' and `flower heart'. Kathlene was a delightful character, so in love with the mystique of the `geisha' yet still holding out for `love' - and slowly coming to the realization that you couldn't have it both ways. The mystery of what Kathlene's father did to the Prince to instigate such hatred was kept right up until the very end and fully explained. Though it is definitely an erotic read, it is tastefully and gently done through the eyes of an innocent rather than going for the shock value some authors use by utilizing foul language and minute details! Again, some of the terms used had me laughing out loud and my bottom line is that I was thoroughly entertained with the story, the characters, and can highly recommend this to all who like a VERY sensual romantica read!
