Diablo 2, The Black Road is a fun read

I didn't expect much from this book, after all it's written about the backstory of a computer game. I did expect familiar territory, but what I wasn't expecting was that the game's immersive backstory would be picked up and handled so well. There was much less monster-whacking and much more interesting inner conflicts than I expected. The particular demon of the book is a nasty one, and it had some deep things to show about the way human beings respond to what they want to hear. The main character has abuse issues with his father and unlike many novels that deal with abuse issues, that wasn't resolved with a pat answer. He grew certainly, but the book didn't end with everyone happily all right. Yet the ending was interesting in its way. I'm enjoying the series and will probably get more of these, but it wouldn't surprise me if "The Black Road" turned out to be one of its lasting high points. If I'd never played the game, I would've really enjoyed this novel.

A Decent Story

Diablo: The Legacy of Blood (Book 2 in the Series) By: Mel Odom Another good book in the Diablo series that is based on the popular video game. This is a totally different story, with totally different characters, and yes totally different locations. In this book, an evil priest tracks down the doorway to unleashing a powerful demon into the world of man. But at the same time an unwitting sailor is on his way to the island to rescue a member of the royal family and gets tangled up in the whole matter as he witnesses the coming of the evil demon. Now, after tragedy and hardship, he must bring his life together, to try and destroy the demon that took his best friend and rid the world of its evil influence. I liked this story, there were some pretty good action scenes, the only thing that I don't like is the ease where time just totally skips in several months and even in years. But it is still a great story, much like the first book, this has more fight scenes to it than the first, they have lengthy gaps between them, that's the only bad thing other then a few spelling errors throughout the book, gotta give it an 9.1/10.

No Armor is the Best

Strotyabout a soldier named Norrec who finds ancient armor and gets possed by it. overall good book awith many twist and turns the downside is too many tow people long talks between them . But still a good read to check out.

One of the greatest books I've read.

Diablo # 2 the black road is simply put one of the best books I've ever read. I'm a huge fan of the Diablo games and it got me to try out the books. I read Legacy of Blood and was hooked from the first page. Then I found out the Black Road was coming out and I bought it as soon as I could. I immediately dove into this book and loved it. It starts out with action and stays action packed the whole way through. I read mostly adventure and sci-fi so this book was right up my alley. I would reccomend this book to anyone who loves a great adventure or is a fan of Diablo. Not many books keep me gripped and turning pages like this one, but I was up late at night not wanting to go to bed because I was busy reading.

May the Way of Dreams Take You Where You Want to Go

All in all this is the most enthralling of the Diablo books. I started reading this and I could not put it down (which was not the case with Legacy of Blood). The best part of this book is the very personal character of Darrick Lang. Once you read this book you will feel as if you know what he has gone through since childhood, in essence you will feel like Mat (Darrick's best friend in the book). Also the idea of using a demon that was not a Prime Evil as the antagonist was fresh and kept me on my feet. We all know that Diablo is the Lord of Terror but how many people can say they know about Kabraxis. The story is not confusing at all as another review said and the character cycling makes sure that the reader is not in the dark during the course of the book. Buy this book and you will never forget it.
