The Bible for Men: Volume I - Women Friends and Male Power

Being a voracious reader and having read many help, self-help and purely entertaining books this reader found this book a wonderful journey to humorous and alternatively healing self-awareness. The Bible for Men: Volume I was an enlightening combination of entertainment, thought-provocation and an unexpected connection to a deeper level of understanding. I became emotionally engaged and enraged at the onset of the book only to find myself subsequently thoroughly entertained and educated. I remained open-minded and with an open soul to allow myself a deeper understanding not only of my male counterparts but also human interaction and psychology. A definite must read for any gender seeking cultural understanding, enlightenment and growth. Perhaps many relationships will sustain with a conscious release of social-minded principles.

In The Bible for Men, Richard D. Mills has opened the door on relationships and forced us to take a hard look at the contemporary, and often contemptuous, interactions between men and women. He does a wonderful job of addressing the distinctly peculiar bonds that link men and women together. When sharing his own personal experiences, Mills does so in a manner that can only be described as vulnerable and wryly astute. He is able to deftly balance humor and sadness in a way that ultimately adds weight to his musings on life, love and women. He writes with a lavish confidence that challenges the intellect, stirs a wide range of emotions, and satisfies the soul. If you are searching for a different male perspective that lends shrewd insight into the struggles, absurdities, strengths and intimacies of friendship, dating and marriage, this book is for you. The Bible for Men is an enjoyable, insightful, and very entertaining read. It certainly left me hungering for Volume II.

I loved this book because it has a new approach to relationships but I think the author is trying to kill country music. No more jealousy, ownership or even marriage as we've known it, and no divorce or romance as we've known them, so what kind of lyrics will we have? Is it really feasible? Personally, I found myself agreeing with the Monogamy Inorganic and I think most women will feel the same way. There is nothing more intimate than sex, when two people are "in" each other, naked, exposed. both body & soul, showing all your weaknesses, lies, frailties, egos. I just don't think you can ignore that aspect even if you are friends.

I've been using on line dating services in the UK (match.com) and for the first time I've found a book for men, written by a man, that I am recommending in my personal profile to all men. If a guy follows Mills' advice with women, I don't see how he could possibly miss. This book is also a lesson in relationship possibilities and spirituality that both men and women alike can benefit from immensely. Anyone in the healing and/or social services field should read this book. I discovered it in a women's studies class, and we all loved it!!!!

At last! A fresh approach to the male - female relationship. For women who truly want to understand male power and build meaningful lasting relationships, The Bible for Men is a must read! Relationship-making is not easy and this book does not offer a simple formula. Instead, Mills gives the reader a basis for a new understanding and thus a new model for lasting relationships. The Bible for Men is a guide for building relationships on friendship and understanding. Mills does not claim this is an easy-read. He is aggressive in his ideas and approach because relationships are serious business. Whether or not you agree, Mills provides numerous avenues for lively discussion!
