The Best Life

The Best Life Ain't Easy, But It's Worth It A Memoir Virelle Kidder Moody Press 2008 Non Fiction/Christian Living/Women/Practical Life Reviewed by Cindy Loven Virelle Kidder author of several books for women, has presented us with her memoirs. The Best Life Ain't Easy, But It's Worth It, a wonderful book that takes us through Virelle's life. There is a song that is sung by the Easter's called I Want a Faith Like That every page of this book, made me think of that song. Virelle's faith is simply amazing. As a pastor's wife, who loves statistics, I was simply amazed to read her story. A child brought up in a non-believing home, who had a hunger for God all her life, as a young adult Virelle came to a saving knowledge of Jesus, and never looked back. Statistics are stacked against such happenings, but God had something to say that surpassed statistics. This book takes us through her days of being the only saved person in her home, and how God spoke to her to love her husband into the Kingdom. This book is an encouragement for all women, who have unsaved husbands. This book is definitely a book to share with friends, family and anyone who loves to read. It will build your faith in God, faith in people and you will laugh and cry along Virelle as she shares stories from her life. 174 Pages [...] ISBN-13:978-0-8024-4862-0

The Authentic Story of an Authentic Woman

I first met Virelle years ago, when we were both invited on a tour of Israel for women journalists. Since then, we've become friends. I've of course heard bits and pieces of her life story, but reading this book gave me an even greater appreciation for what she's been through -- all the things that have made her who she is today. Reading her story, I was encouraged and inspired to reflect on the lessons I've learned in my own life -- and challenged to strive for the same godly perspective and positive, overcoming attitude toward my own experiences. I can testify that Virelle is in person every bit as warm and honest and sincere and authentic as she comes across in this book. It's a privilege to know her... and to get to know her even better through the pages of this book!

A good resource

What do you do when life starts out bumpy, and it's not your fault? Virelle Kidder starts The Best Life Aint Easy with the story of a child with an alcoholic dad and a mom struggling to keep things afloat. Things get much worse before they get better, but Virelle becomes a woman intent on making the best life. But is it easy? I appreciate the fact that she doesn't gloss over the obstacles a person must go through, or the learning curves, or the fact that faith doesn't make everything magical, but creates a hope-filled resource that encourages women that the best life IS possible and that God is with us throughout the journey. Excellent resource for women who desire the best life.

Encouragement for life

This book was such an encouragement to me during an overwhelming period in my life. I had a hard time reading anything due to being exhausted, overwhelmed and just flat out discouraged, and I read this in 5 hours. The Best Life Ain't Easy: But It's Worth It will draw you in from the very first page. Virelle shares her life in such a real way that you feel like you are sitting with her in her living room. I felt like I wasn't alone in life. I laughed, cried, and was encouraged ! Thanks Virelle! Dana Lyons

Virelle speaks my language.

The Best Life Ain't Easy: But It's Worth It Virelle offers her own stories from the heart, with a very comfortable voice that feels like we're walking together along a creek somewhere, or sharing a cup of tea on a quiet afternoon. Her young cowgirl adventures had me hooked. I was there with her in my own childhood fascination with Roy Rogers. Her honesty helped me see a friend between the pages, showing me how God is using my own challenges to draw me closer to Him and to others. Thanks so much! Sandra Sunquist Stanton
