Did for me what "The Wall Street Journal Guide..." did

As I am taking my first class ever on Economics, which is focused on Microeconomics, this book comes in handy as a reference book where I can find a down-to-earth discussion of basic concepts that relate to Macroeconomics. It pretty much did for me in Economics what "The Wall Street Journal Guide to Understanding Money & Investing" did for investing. It is broken down in a chapter-like fashion, much in the style of the dummies guides and written in layman's tems by Mr. Epping, an American who holds a degree in International Finance from Yale, who has held management positions all over Europe and who is fluent in six languages.

A Good Read!

Randy Charles Epping has written an easy, informative overview of the world economy that roams from central banks to black markets to derivatives. His premise: Most people don't get much out of their studies of basic economics because the material is presented an abstract, obscure and confusing manner. His goal: Bring the real world into the study of economics. He addresses 77 basic economic concepts using neat, short textbook definitions. Don't look here for insights into current debates about globalization, for they are not addressed. But advanced readers might still find some value in this book as a quick resource in which to find quick answers to simple questions about economic systems and structures. Otherwise, we [...] recommend this book as the perfect gift for any youngster bored with Macro and Micro 101.

This book give a basic understanding of economics.

I'm a high school student and I had read this book. I think this book is a great book for beginners like me. It give a basic understanding of some economics terms as well as finance, like what is an Option or what is Macroeconomics, that kind of thinks. I realy like this book and because of it i'm planing to buy more books not only about economics but other subject. I also like this book because is very esay to read, specially for a person who only has som years in this country like me. I recoment this book.

Good

This book is a must for any student who wants or needs to learn about the world economy.

World economics finally explained in laymens terms.

As an investor looking to improve my understanding of the stock market and the global economy, I found this book very informative and easy to understand. After I finished reading the copy I borrowed at the library, I went right out and purchased a copy for myself. Mr. Epping broke complex topics down to a level anyone could make sense of. A "must have" reference book.
