History made very very exciting

If anyone you know believes that history is dry and boring, they must read this book. Each chapter is a stand alone story so it can be read cover to cover or just pick a story get going.

And you thought your neighbor was weird...

Nothing can prepare you for some of the crazies that are presented here in this book. Not fiction, oh no... Merely a simple recount of the worst people to be recorded by history, and a couple of the best made up ones as well. Funny, scary, appalling, and tells you that none of the sick bastards we see now are original.

They didn't need TV to inspire their violence

We can't blame television for the atrocities detailed in this book. A genius for devilry has been around for centuries, as the authors show. The description of death "by the boats" still makes me shudder.

i wanted history taught this way.

quick read that is written slightly tongue in cheek. the book ranges from people i have never heard of to everyone-despises-me. some people from the other side of the world to your backyard. eons ago to only a hundred years back with "Liver-eating Johnson" really that is what he was called. this man held a grudge you would not believe. after finishing this your boss, neighbors, and daughters waste of space boyfriend won't seem that bad
