The first romance novel I've ever read and I completely related to Astrid the smart mouth educated n

Loved this book. The writing kept me turning page after page long after my bedtime. I hated the miscommunication between Astrid and Thane but that's what makes the story special I guess. Definitely leads to some plot twists for sure!

The Lady and The beast

Nathan Harte, the Duke of Beswick was a brave soldier, up until another peer of the realm abandoned him and his men to the French in Spain leaving him for dead. Since returning home he's been dubbed 'The beast of Beswick', a surly, scarred, recluse who lives in his ancestral manor that uses his deceased father's porcelain collection for cricket practice. Up until one day, Astrid Everleigh, a fallen bluestocking spinster who was ruined at a ball by her former fiancce'e comes to him offering up marriage and the catalogue and sell of his father's collection. He is intrigued by the sharp tongued harpy whose desperate to keep her and her sister from her former betrothed's machinations and eventually agrees to marriage. And as time goes on, he realizes that he is enough not just for her but himself and they both find more passion, peace, and desire in marriage to the other then they could dream.
