Book Overview

"The most unique vampire story since 'SALEMS LOT." - George A. Romero

"A gripping plotline and good old-fashioned Gothic horror." - Fangoria

For two hundred years, he has rested. Now he rises. Now he will be satisfied. Nothing can stop him. No one can resist him.

Benjamin Latham is young and handsome, his eighteenth-century mind wakened to a bizarre twentieth-century world. And there is the need deep within . . . an animal need, frightening, murderous, unholy . . . a vital need that must be fed.

And with his need comes a power over men and women to do his bidding, to quiet his dark craving . . .

Until the murders begin.

And the inquiries. All suggesting the same hideous truth.

Now Benjamin must find a sanctuary: a lover, a partner, a friend. Someone who can share his darkness. Someone he can lead to . . . The Awakening.

Publisher's note: This is the bestselling novel that the motion picture HEARTSTOPPER was based on.

great vampire story.........this tale of a revolutionary war era vampire come back to life in the present day will have you turning the pages like crazy........the changes of the past two hundred years are shocking to the vampire upon his''awakening''[especially the fact that therebel colonists had defeated the british, which is unacceptable to a follower of king george like himself.....]but he does adjust to th twentieth century rapidly, and he has some converts.......and also a detective who vowed to catch him at all costs after he viciously murders a toddler........it has a surprising ending,so,if you can locate a used copy of this book somewhere, read it!
