My husband and I love this book. We look at it every day. The text may be depressing, but it's a wake-up call to the destruction of beautiful areas like the ones depicted. The pictures are absolutely stunning and you will be astounded that there are such places in the world.

As in Arthus Bertrand's previous editions of this sort his images are magnificant; and this volume continues that tradition. Aerial images from around the world--some urban, some landmarks, some purely natural, the diversity is welcomed, and the global key helps tremendously in locating oneself along his journey. This is a really beautiful book and the author did some extensive research when compiling this book (it took him over a decade). The accompanying text is not very lengthy but the pictures are awesome and breathtaking. This is a wonderful book and great for coming up with ideas for your next vacation.

The images on the left-hand pages are shockingly beautiful views of the surface of the earth from about 100 feet above. Images are often more abstract and graphic than one would expect.
