The Art of Nature: Reflections on the Grand Design

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with the previous reviewer who said the colors in this book are inconsistent. As a landscape and wildlife photographer myself (see my website [...]) I am very critical of others work and in particularly photographs I see in published photography books. Bruce W. Heinemann's landscape photographs are beautiful, and this is probably my favorite landscape photography coffee table book that I own. Nearly every image in this book is technically suburb, with incredible detail, amazing sharpness, consistent color, beautiful light, and visually pleasing compositions. From an artistic point of view, his images are visually balanced, dynamic, and exciting to view. Few photographers can present such intricate scenes so well. If there was anything about the photography in this book that I could nitpick, I would say that the colors are very vivid, perhaps a little oversaturated. Certainly not dull like the other reviewer said, so I wonder if he got a bad copy of this book. The seven copies I reviewed in stores (five in New Jersey, two in Colorado) were all excellent. Beautiful, inspiring photography is definately the strong point of The Art of Nature. I absolutely recommend this book. It is rare to find photography that is consistently this good from page to page, and this book's low price tag makes it an incredible value for a larger sized, hardcover format, coffee table style book.
