The Art of Discernment: Making Good Decisions in Your World of Choices

I read this book on a recent retreat and then flipped back and read it a second time. Skip the first two chapters (background info) but the rest of this book is great for providing guidelines for making decisions. I'm going to buy two copies and give them to my teenagers.

This book is simple to read, and may at first glance, be viewed as being too simplistic. However, I would argue that the concepts and factors associated with discernment speak to the depth of human spirituality and reality, especially from the Christian tradition. It is a very fair and balanced treatment of the "discernment of spirits" as described by Ignatius of Loyola. If you are a person who is trying to make some serious decisions in your life, and you are Christian and take your faith seriously, I think you would find this book very helpful.
