The Arab Americans: A History

This book was much needed because of a general lack of information on the history of Arabs in America. The most interesting part of this book was its description of the first wave of Arab immigration to the U.S., from 1878 to 1924. I found it really fascinating to read about the origins of Arab Americans. There are not many places you can go to find this kind of info. Also helpful were the appendices in the book giving exact numbers of Arab immigration to the United States from 1869 to 2004. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning more about Arab American history. It is a thorough, complete, and well written piece.

If you want to know more about the Middle East & Syria (historically, socially, and politically) from real individual flamboyant mosaic stories with variant of cultures and traditions; and to remind us how the land we live in is being sculpted by challenges and triumphs of the people who come to the U.S., and why they came in the first place. and to think about how incredibly diverse the United States is.
