Adventures of Amelia Bedelia (I Can Read Series)

This book was one of my favorites as a child, providing an introduction to the world of idioms and puns. As an English teacher, I collect children's books--only the best. Recently I took a stack of children's books with me when I babysat five children. This was the first book they wanted to read. Four of the five (from age 4 to 10) crowded around me to hear the stories. Only the two year old was not drawn into the stories. Amelia Bedelia is one of their favorite characters as well. Adventures of Amelia Bedelia (978-0-7607-7103-0) includes Amelia Bedelia; Come Back, Amelia Bedelia; and Play Ball, Amelia Bedelia.
