The ABCs of Halloween

Decent condition other than missing the first 4 or so pages. A, B, and C pages are nowhere to be seen, starts from D on. Really sad :(

This book is perfect for toddlers. Its not your typical A is for Apple type book. It's a story and it rhymes. Also adore all the artwork and the recipe!

I started reading this to my son around Halloween, when he was about 19 mo old. The first few times I just read it. After that, I started saying, "A," and then reading the verse, and then saying, "A" again. He is now almost 23 months old and has known all his letters for a month. He LOVES this book and we read it several times a week. The pictures are adorable and there is lots to look at. For example, on the "F" page, there is a picture of a vampire and a dog above the fireplace, and he always points to it and says, "DOG." I think this has really helped his observational skills and is a wonderful book. I am looking for more by this author!

This is a FANTASTIC book that not only cleverly teaches ABCs by linking the learning into the Halloween holiday but it also contains some gorgeous, extremely detailed illustrations. The book is a true pleasure to read, the lines just roll off the tongue and the illustrations are absolutely amazing. Even if I did not have children, I would want this book in my collection just for the pictures, its that inventive and beautifully done!

My 3 year old asks for this book almost every night. She has memorized several of the pages and loves to say the words with me. The art is very nice, and neither the photos nor the verses are frightening. We're going to make pumpkin soup this weekend.

I bought this book a year ago for my then 2 year old, and he has insisted on reading it every other day for the past year. It has beautiful pictures and a cute little rhyme for each letter "U is for umpteen unseen unicorns undulating far across the centuries of time!" (That's off the top of my head, I've got the whole book memorized from reading it so much, as does my son!) It is a wonderful book for the season, capturing the spirit of Halloween, presenting some eerie and spooky themes in a way that is not frightening to a young child. It is his all time favourite book, which would get any book a high rating (anything that keeps kids interested in books is good, in my opinion!), but the beautiful art and great vocabulary and educational value earns it 5 stars!

My two-year-old LOVES this book! They read it at our local bookstore storytime, and he insisted to carrying it through the whole store for the trick-or-treat parade, and I had to buy it! He's insisted that we read it several times a day ever since we got it home. The pictures are delightful and the creative words will introduce your toddler or preschooler to lots of vocabulary as they enjoy picking out the letters in all the pumpkins. Highly recommended.
