Thats What Friends Are For

...a very entertining, funny, steamy, and romantic read. Great dialogue between the characters the hero brilliant and sweet, and sexy he was. The heroine conflicted about who and what she needed to become and finding that she should do what made her happy. The baggage these two carried was handled well, but the friendship was really what drew me that they were friend first then lovers made this a very sweet story....the love scenes were explosive too. This is a great story. I loved the 2 main characters and their interaction with each other. I can't wait to read more of this author. She understands sexy romance. She is the real deal.

I really enjoyed this book. I like it so much because it reminds me of my interracial marraige to my high school sweetheart and best friend. He was like Ned, kind of nerdy. I was like Fiona,a cheerleader and dancer. Ned and Fiona are great best friends. Fiona is living with Ned until she finds a job. She has attended law school to prove to everyone that she isn't an airhead. Ned is really smart and has a job working with computers. He wants to run his own department but doesn't know how to prove to his boss that he's capable and ready. So, Fiona comes up with a plan that is supposed to get Ned a promotion and her a job in the best court in Virginia. There's only one catch,the plan calls for them to cross the best friend line and become lovers. Will they decide to go for it? You'll have to read the book to see what happens. Believe me, it's worth it. There are lots of heart felt, humorous and sexy moments. This is the second book that I have read by Bridget Midway. I have thoroughly enjoyed them both.

Trapped in a job that he despises, Ned Cholurski just wants to go home to his roommate and best friend, Fiona. Only she can make him feel better. Best friends since high school, Ned cherishes their friendship because he knows that Fiona could have any man that she wants and everyday he can't believe that she wants to be friends with him, the school nerd. Fiona is tired of being ignored. Trying to get a clerk job in a lawyer's office, she comes up with a plan. Ned is tried of being pushed over at work and she is tired of not getting a foot in the door. So, the only thing left for them to do is to pretend to date each other. That way Ned will be the office stud, and his boss in turn will notice him. Once the boss notices Ned, Fiona knows that it is just a matter of time before he writes her a letter of recommendation to his golf buddy's law firm. Now all she has to do is convince Ned that this plan will work. That's What Friends Are For is just an all around cute book. It made me laugh and Ned's humor made me roll my eyes. Whoever says that friends can't be lovers did not read this book. While my ideal man is not a computer "geek", Ned comes across as being extremely sexy in a humorous sort of way. Fiona, on the other hand, is not your average head cheerleader. Smart, sassy, and funny, she compliments Ned completely. Bridget Midway has a winner with That's What Friends Are For. Ned and Fiona have been best friends since high school. Ned was the typical nerd everyone picked on and Fiona the Prom queen and cheerleader everybody lusted after. They maintained their close relationship for 12yrs even becoming roomates after college. Fiona is looking for a job but it's not what she really wants to do. Ned is a computer geek who is unhappy with his job and wants to get the chance to be in a higher position and show his ideas. Only problem is, his boss can't even remember his name, let alone notices him at all. He complains to Fiona and she comes up with a plan that can get both of them what they want. Fiona is sexually frustrated and since Ned is in close proximity, she makes a deal with him that involves sex between them. Ned of course jumps at the chance, it's his fantasy come true, but he also knows that it can possibly ruin their relationship since he's been in love with Fiona forever and he doesn't know if Fiona will ever feel the same way. This story is about 109 pages and I purchased it as an E-book. Bridget Midway has a website with all of her stories she's written. As always the love scenes are well written and explicit. It was funny and cute. Something to read in between books.
