Excellent - well written! - 2nd book in the A Weston Series

This book is so great that I got up early on vacation to finish the book! This is the second book by this author the first was Promise Me Tonight: A Weston Novel. In this historical romance it's Olivia Weston's story. Olivia finds Jason Traherne deceased wife's diary and broach and seeks off to meet the mysterious man. Jason Traherne the Marguuess of Sheldon is a dark character who wants nothing to do with 'company' but slowing Olivia gets him out of dark mood. Just when I though the story was wrapped up in the little happy bow - it takes another great turn - great writing. Can't wait for her next novel 'A Rogue for all Season' due out January 2011.
What a Wonderful Second Book from Sara Lindsey!!

Oh my, Sara Lindsey has done it again. This book was so much more than just a romance. It was a story of moving on for a person that had lost the person that was once te most important to him and learning how to love again, because it is possible. I adored Livvy, she was an absolute joy to read about. She knew what she wanted and she set out to get it, even if there were those few snags in between. The Marquess was a wonderful character and I felt for him more than once. *sigh* So delicious! The poor man was left alone with a child and a pain so great that he was obliterated by the time Livvy made her way to him. Though, she helps him and their love blossoms into something much more beautiful that either could have ever imagined. Glorious book that I thoroughly enjoyed. Oh, I also really liked the characters of Aunt Kate and Charles. They added so much more to the book and balanced it out ver nicely.

In 1798 Lady Olivia Weston is about to have her debut London season. A die hard romantic, Olivia is pragmatic as she knows she will marry out of need not desire. However, she can dream of an adventure with one of the hunks who star in her readings. Olivia and her aunt head to Wales for Christmas. When she meets Lord Jason Traherne, father of an ailing child, she thinks he stepped out of one of her books as a menacing hero. As she tries to understand the man, she falls in love as does he. However, she believes deep in her hurting heart he still loves his late wife and has not moved passed her death. The latest Weston Regency romance (see Promise Me Tonight) is an engaging tale mostly due to Olivia who is the late eighteenth century version of Bonnie Tyler's song "I Need a Hero". However, she soon learns the other side of holding out for a hero as he has traits that are not endearing to her; on the other hand his kisses are. Sub-genre readers will relish this Weston woman's witty war for love with her reluctant hero. Harriet Klausner
