A good place to start

I have diabetes all over in my family, so I was NOT surprised when my doc decided to assume I had gestational diabetes right from the start of my pregnancy. However, both my mom and her dad don't take good care of themselves, so I didn't have any good role models for what I should be eating. I knew what NOT to eat...but not what I should focus on instead. The nurse that spoke with me (NOT a nutritionist) was way off in her diet recommendations, this book helped me eat again! I sat and read it in just a few days, it has great advice and was easy to understand. I don't generally use it as a reference, but I'm glad I read it early on.

This was very helpfull to me in learning what to eat and in simple to understand language. The dietetition I talked to kept talking in sciencetific language That I did not even understand the food plan she game me. This author made sense to me. I don't eat at fast food places normily, but now I know what I can eat there if I have no other choice. She game me practical advice to navigating the supermarket, and how to get more fiber into my meals. I would recomend thios book to anyone who need a little more down to earth advice.
