Great story for a girl about to become an older sister
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 14 years ago
With our daughter about to become an older sister, both my wife and i love reading this very warm and lovely story to her. And she loves to read it to herself even! I think eventually, because the way the story includes both the voice of the girl and her mom in a running dialogue, our daughter will read the parts of the girl in the story. I did not search hard, but I am surprised this story is not made more widely available. I bought it through 'these sellers' link. The illustrations are wonderful with many details for the busy mind of a toddler to grasp onto. I also think our daughter and her sister/brother will love the moral of the story when they're both older: that every child has their own story.
I LOVE IT!! I LOVE IT!!! I LOVE IT!!!

This has got to be one of the best books about pregnancy and becoming a big sister that I have ever read! I LOVE the illustrations! The story is SOOOOOO sweet! I didn't realize until the very end that it would be a story about becoming a big sister. This is a GREAT story that every little girl will love and that mommies will enjoy reading again and again and again...
Perfect book for moms and girls to share!

I picked up this book on display in our local library. The cover caught my attention. I skimmed it, reading most of it standing there with my daughter, who is 2. We have had problems in previous pregnancies and have always hoped for her to have a sibling. I have a friend in a similar circumstance who is now pregnant and thought, "I should remember this title and send her a copy, she would love it." Well, I just found out I'm pregnant and am now here to buy 2 copies, one for my daughter and I to share and one for my friend and her daughter to share as well. Since the girls are little and we both have had losses in the past, this will be a nice way to talk with them about babies coming into the world without specifically saying, "Mommy is going to have a baby!" This will be a nice introduction. I can't wait.
Heard it from the author

I heard this story in my music class. The author, herself, read it to us. The book is so cute and is an easy way to remind children that no matter how many brothers and sisters they have they each have their own unique story and are their own unique person. The pictures are great and you don't know why until the end of the story why the little girl wants her mother to retell her own story that she knows so well. I love this book!
