The idea - and advantages - of working together as a team is not new to me. But developing and implementing these ideas, with individuals coming out of an established non-team environment, will be more than challenging. The book walks team members through several practical steps and exercises to help them develop a team mission. The same with a team vision, and then translating this vision into team goals. Many books will discuss these in principle, but few actually offer an exercise and steps for the team to follow. And it is this way with every chapter of the book. If you want deep theory, don't buy this book. If you want something you can hand to a team and say "go to it," then this is the tool for you.

After seeing the power of "Teams At Work" in two different corporations I feel this is a must read, must use book. It is very easy to use and very reader friendly. Building an effective, productive team has never been so well defined or delivered so many benefits for businesses of all sizes.

A practical, easy-to-read guide to making effective use of work teams. Although it would be useful in many different kinds of work environments, I found it particularly helpful in assessing and strengthening volunteer/staff teams in not-for-profit organizations. Goes way beyond the obvious in providing tools and sound guidance.
