outstanding help

I was required to use this text for a course I was taking. It was incredibly interesting and offered great insights into methods of teaching elementary school math. I wish I was taught some of this stuff when I was in elementary school. It is heavy on the reasons instead of the rote learning. The explanations are wonderful. The authors find ways to simplify things that may mystify some people. Definitely worth it!

a source of practical ideas for primary mathematics teaching

That's an excellent book, that can be used as a source of ideas in order to teach effectively not only underachieving pupils or pupils with SEN, but all pupils in general. It should be recommended to all those involved with primary mathematics teaching.
