Java Programming in 24hours

It was an excellent resource for non programmers. I found it to be comprhensive and systematic in it's approach. It was delivered to me in good condition and on time.

Great for beginners

If you want to learn Java but have never programmed before, this is THE place to start.I went through a couple of other books on Java but wasn't getting anywhere. After reading this book, I feel like I'll be able to go back through those other books with a better understanding of the basics.

Good starter book. Cadenhead's writing style was perfect.

I wanted to learn JAVA for use on the web. I looked for different books, and found this one. I dug into it immediately. I learned the bascis, then the fact I could use JAVA outside the web. After a few months, I am stil using it for reference.Cadenhead was a geat help when I got stuck. He Emailed me back and answered my questions. Now that takes dedication!

The perfect book for Java!

This book is the best, because he teaches alot of great things about Java. Everything is completely organized, the samples of code are great, and he teaches so clearly, that you don't need to worry about not understanding anything he says. If you really want to learn Java easy, buy this book.

The best book for beginning Java developers

I've read dozens of Java books and this one by far outclasses them all. For a simplified discussion of the language and how to work with it, this can't be beat. Once you've got the basics down, you can move up to a more technical book, but for beginners, this is tops. Though the author stresses developing applets more than full blown applications, you'll still be very pleased with the information given. (Note: The code for one or two samples is somewhat "wrong", but with the knowledge you pick up during the chapter, you'll be able to spot it an fix it quickly.)
