Teach Yourself 101 Key Ideas: Psychology revisits the most compelling topics in psychology, explaining their origins and clearing up any misconceptions. This description may be from another edition of this product.
To be honest the only reason why I purchased this book was for a Psychology class I was taking. And this book was required for the class. But with that aside, if you're really thinking about going into Psychology for a career I suggest you read this book. Its not too long and its short and simple when talking about the different topics. Being a psychology major, I also found it really interesting and well written, so that the reader can understand smoothly. Good book...but I had to get it
Great book!

I'm a first year psychology major and I got this book from our local library to read it whenever I had nothing else to do. I have to say I love this book. This is a great intro to psychology. There are 101 topics sorted alphabetically. And then each topic has been explained in one page, so it only takes a couple of minutes to read each of them. They have been explained in a very simple language making it easily understandable by anyone. I learned a lot from this book, however, if you are already in the field ofpsychology I doubt that you will see anything new here. Here are some of the topics covered in this book:Adolescence, Ageing, Aggression, Anxiety Disorders, Solomon Asch, Attachment, Attitudes, Autism, Albert Bandura, Behaviour Modification, Behaviour Therapy, Behaviourism, Biopsychology, Brain Structure, Naom Chomsky, Chronic Illness, Clinical Psychology, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Development, Cognitive Dissonance, Cognitive psychology, Comparative Psychology, Conditioning, Consciousness, Coping Strategies, Correlation, Defence Mechanism, Dementia, Depression, Developmental Psychology, Dreams, Dyslexia, Eating Disorders, Emotions, Episodic semantic and procedural memory, Ethics, Experimental method, Eyewitness testimony, Hans J. Eysenck, False memories, and more!
