Taste of Home Soups: 431 Hot & Hearty Classics

I've known "Taste of Home" books to be very good in times past, but this one didn't make the cut. What I liked so much was their use of "real" ingredients and mostly steering clear of prepackaged ingredients. I've been trying to learn to cook more with ingredients like flour, home made broths, spices harvested from the garden, frozen vegetables etc. It's been found that so many of the prepackaged ingredients contain all sorts of additives that are bad for folks. I'm sure the intent of the recipe makers was to make their recipes quicker and easier for people in a hurry. For me, without being willing to do a bunch of experimentation to replace those pre-packaged items, there are very few recipes in this book I can even use.
