Tappin' On Thirty

Taylor Jabowski is haunted by a lost love - Scooter. Memories of that lost love become more prevalent after a class reunion. Scooter was there and looking good as ever. Despite Scooter's current relationship, Taylor is not ready to give up on what could have been or what still can be. So caught up in the past, will Taylor miss out on the future? Candice Dow's account of love-lost is fresh, funny and captivating. TAPPIN' ON THIRTY was a rewarding read. 4.5 stars

Break-up to Make-up

What would you do to get back with the "one that got away?" When you see the love of your life and those old feelings re-surface, would you act on those feelings or leave it in the past? Candice Dow does a fantastic job of showing his and her side of the coin. I got so into the story, I wanted to reach in and slap the mess out of both Taylor and Scooter. It was great seeing Devin Patterson again, from "Caught in the Mix," and seeing how he's progressed. I love reading stories where characters from past books are re-visited. "Tappin' on Thirty" had me reading well into the night, trying to finish it. I loved it!

Lust vs. Love Triangle

Taylor Jabowski regrets that she let Scooter, her high school sweetheart slip through her fingertips. When her high school reunion rapidly approachs, can she win his heart again? Scooter on the other hand has forgotten all about Ms. Taylor so he thinks until they meet back up at the reunion. Old flames spark. Lost love lingers. Lust lurks. Scooter is torn between his past love for Taylor and current love for girlfriend Akua. While all this is brewing, Devin and Taylor's paths cross. Devin Patterson is still harboring old feelings about his ex-wife getting pregnant. The best thing that happened to him out of that union was his precious litte girl, Nicole. I sooooo loved this book. Candice is so awesome putting pen to paper. Kudos Candice! Keep writing and I'll keep reading!

Taylor Jabowski is constantly reminded that she's approaching 30. Yes, she's still single, and unfortunately there aren't any prospects in sight. While she's educated and successful, her heart is lonely and longing for just one person, namely her ex Scooter. Taylor has already made up her mind, at her high school reunion she will focus on rekindling the love that she and Scooter shared at any and all costs. Will her feelings be reciprocated? While it has been nine long years, Jason Scooter Evans knows that there has to be a man in Taylor's life. It's cool 'cause he's in love, living with his girl and life is good. A little shocked by her unhitched confessions, Scooter still finds himself checking a little too hard for Taylor. Will their reunion set off alarms? Remember Devin Patterson? You know him from Caught In The Mix. Well, he's back, bitter and tired of all of the pretty women he can bed with no substance. Devin is still wishing he could reverse time and get Clark and skip over Jennifer, but he loves his baby girl. When Devin's ambitions lead him to reside in New York and Maryland, he meets the ideal mate. Unfortunately for Devin, she's already involved with someone. While he tries to play it cool, it's obvious that she's touched his blossoming soul. Devin decides to fall back. Will Devin get a second shot at love? Candice Dow's fourth novel, "Tappin On Thirty" is a fun, witty read. Drenched in desperation, love, loneliness, reconciliations, and regrets, all appear to be trudging up and down on happiness. If you've had the pleasure of reading Candice's first novel Caught In The Mix, then you'll enjoy the way she slides in members from that story into this one providing readers with a glimpse of the future without having to tackle the heftiness associated with a sequel. This was a great collaboration and I can earnestly say that Candice definitely has a legitimate flavor and I can't wait until the next book is on the shelves. I LOVE MY PEOPLE! Realistic story with a very surprising ending

Since her very first book Candice Dow got me hooked. Her debut novel immediately made me put her on my top 5 list. And that means something. The book just left something behind, I kept thinking about the story over and over again, weeks and even months later. At first I kept wondering why there wasn't a prologue about Clark & Devin's past in this (sort of) sequel but then I realised it wasn't really about them anymore. Although Devin shows up and plays an important role in the end and there are still references to Clark, the story focuses more on Taylor and Scooter. If you think you lost the love of your life but could get a new chance, would you be willing to break up with your current steady girlfriend? And if you are that love of his life to him, and you're single yourself would you be okay knowing you are destroying a relationship? Candice her books ALWAYS keep me 100% focussed to the story and her books are one of the only ones that can keep me up all night, even if I'm tired. This book is not as heavy as Caught in the Mix but it does make you think.. How would you handle it in their situation? The issues are really realistic and even though you might disagree with some of the choices the characters make you still feel sympathy for them because their feelings are honest and you can just understand why they made the decisions they made. This author knows perfectly how to touch the reader in the way she puts her characters' feelings to paper. I found the ending to be quite surprising! I would have never guessed it and with a lot of books you can so I think Candice did an awesome job hiding this `secret' until the very end!
