In 1995, an effort was made to publish a book about microbreweries in the Midwest. Unfortunately, because of the time it took to visit every brewery in a six state region, by the time the manuscript was written, the information was already outdated. This book's original title was "On Tap: Midwest", but because barely 50 percent of those breweries that were first visited a quarter century ago are still open and operating today, the new title reflects the reality of many of the early adapters in craft beer industry.
